Dally's Ozark Fly Fisher

Big Flies, Big Fish & Big Rods

OF ALL the varied and challenging White River fly fishing experiences, few can match the sheer visual and visceral thrill of watching 2 feet of brown trout hunt down and kill your streamer. Its awesome, violent, predatory all at once.

And there's few other places like it in the world.

The extended high water periods of 2008 opened new windows to our guide team on how to target trophy brown trout. It wasn't that it hadn't been done before, gurus and friends Dave Whitlock and Duane Hada had been doing it back when the White River was unknown. And all of us had streamer fished "conventionally".

But with months of high water ahead of us all, the team started aggressively pursuing modern tactics, gear and flies to target these fish. A key meeting was with our mate and fellow guide Alex Lafkas from the
Old AuSable Fly Shop in Michigan. Michigan has been streamer central starting with Kelly Galloup and Bob Linsemann.

There were two years, countless hours on the oars, slinging casts, flies tied full of hope and scrapped. Streamer season '11 it paid off bigtime. Four guides managed 14 trout from 24" to 32" in the boat, taped and measured in 2.5 months. These are true trophies that don't have to be held at arms length to look big.

Imitation of course is the best form of flattery, but with the Ozark Fly Fisher team your with guys who do this stuff on their time off for the pure fun.

We can teach your the specialized techniques for casting shooting head sinking tips, how to work the fly for maximum result, the principles of fly design, boat handling, the nuances that came from days on the water. We also know how to take care of you, slinging heavy lines, big flies and 8wts can tax us all.

You will find incredible numbers of 18" to 22" trout, courtesy of high water and regulation changes, trophy browns in their own right on many waters. But not here.

They may be the biggest brown you have ever caught, but our guys will be working all day to get you connected to a true trophy over 24".

Its what we do, its who we are, and why we are the best.

STREAMER SEASON IS HERE

2011 High Lake levels are offering a summer long extension of big water streamer fishing on the White River and Norfork Tailwater.  The winter season this year was spectacular and the fish will be in tremendous condition. Its going to be a lot of fun slinging streamers in shorts and sandals rather than the insulating layers of winter.
Peak times will be early morning and evening sessions so consider half day floats, early or late starts, and bring nymphing rigs for the middle of the day slow times. Call The Shop on 870 435 6166 to get more details and book your trip

We are already booking Streamer Season 2012 (December-March). Prime dates in February are prized so don't wait to pick your preferred days. And December and January dates not only offer fishing equally as good but without the numbers of streamer fishers on the water.
